Chronicles of Jackdaw
Thu, 6 Apr 2000
Hail Kinak,
Greetings, old friend. Many years have passed since we last spoke, and much has happened indeed. Within a short span, I have risen to the top of my class, a champion throughout the world. I am sending you entries in my log from the days when I traveled around this continent. They account from my humble beginnings as a mere shopkeeper to my rise as head of the Pokemon League's Elite Trainers. Before I you get to my adventures, however, I would like to tell the story you may not know, the story of my start...
My name is Jack Edward Daws, but, with my raven hair, grim visage, and small stature, my true name seemed to fade over time as I was tagged Jackdaw. I was born and raised in Lavender Town as the son of a shoppekeep and carried on the family business after her unexpected and early passing. Times were rough after the incident and I had to sell nearly everything in stock for cheap just to get by, even my mother's most favorite Flareon's fresh litter. The mother had passed away while in labor and the father had fallen ill a while back. All of them had to be sold, that is, except for one. It connected with me in a way that I could not describe. Maybe it was its strong likeness to parents that touched me, giving the false sense that a piece of my mother would be with me. In tribute to both our mothers, I named him Cinder.
It did not take long before funds ran out and the shop was left nearly bear. Customers would barely trickle in. The bordom was mind numbing. Finally, one day when I could take no more, I pulled a Pokeball out of stock and called for Cinder. As we walked through the doors, the sign turned to read "closed," we went to make our own destiny...

Pokemon and Pokemon characters are property of Game Freaks, Creatures, and Nintendo. I did not make them nor do I take credit for them. However, most characters and various other things included in this fanatic fiction are of my creation, so hands off!
