Hail Kinak,
After leaving from the Vermilion Gym with a Thunder Badge, I headed home. Cubone was tuckered out from his recent battle. My recently captured Spearow, Fucho, named for the Japanese mythical bird of paradise, was flying close to my side, though it seemed to be showing some resistance to rip open my face with its beak. Seeing how it was getting bored, I wanted my new Pokemon to like me. So along the way, I pointed at a tree. A small pidgey was perched on one of the branches. I asked Fucho if it wanted to battle. The evil glint in its eyes was adorable. With great bursts of power, it flapped its wings and sped to the unsuspecting Pidgey.
In a speeding streak, it plowed the bird off its perch. It comically tumbled to the ground. Before it could recover, Fucho was unleashing a barrage of pecks. While attempting to shield itself with its wings, it managed to pull itself back and blast a cloud of dust at my bird. The stinging pain must of been unbearable, but Fucho still was persistent. Its seemed the more the bird fought back, the more mine enjoyed the battle.
Fucho locked eyes with the other bird and delivered an eerie stare. The pidgey couldn't help but to stare back at it. Fear began to overcome it since it had no idea what was going to happen next. Then, without warning, Fucho let out a fierce growl and sunk its beak into the pidgey. It yelped in pain, but then shot high into the air. The battle was now taken to the sky.
It seemed the Pidgey had the advantage, now. Fucho must have not been adept at aerial combat. Ferocious whirlwinds were let loose from the small birds wings knocking Fucho to the ground repetitively. Over and over again, it would stand up, take to the air only to be caught in a strong gales, and thrown back to the earth. After a while, Fucho seemed to be tired and walked back to me.
“What? Are you giving up?” I questioned it. It hung its head in shame. “You can't give to that pip squeak. This is what you're going to do...” I instructed Fucho while the Pidgey flapped overhead waiting for the next move. Reassured by my strategy, Fucho slowly walked back away from me to the Pidgey. Standing under it, it locked eyes with it once again. The stare once again disturbed the Pidgey as Fucho deepened the look. It grew tenser and tenser. The Pidgey began to panic severely. Then, it made its move.
Summoning all of its strength, it savagely flapped its wings to propel itself through the air faster than ever before. It rocketed towards the bird and folded its wings in a streamline shape. Shocked, the Pidgey sent another gust to meet it, but Fucho passed straight through it. Since it streamlined its body, the gust had nothing to really catch on, and Fucho slipped through like bullet striking the Pidgey in one final blow. The force of the attack sent the small bird on a downward spiral. I stood underneath and threw a Pokeball to intercept its descent...
The battle had taken a little longer than expected, and I only managed to make it to Saffron City instead of home to Lavender Town.
