Hail Kinak,
To pass the time in wait for my challenge, Kelly showed me around the town a little more. I asked her about the Gym Leader over lunch, but she couldn't tell me anything on him. When the short tour was done, people were still waiting for the Gym Leader to get done battling, so I challenged another sap. The trainer acted nonchalant, and chose his Pokemon first, to give me the advantage.
He pulled out a Muk, and I chose Fucho, my Spearow. The battle began quickly. The Muk started to melt down, until it was just a puddle of purple goo. No, I thought to myself, Acid Armor! Its going to be hard to get this guy now, but my plan was simple. I had Fucho snarl at it.
Louder and louder, the calls grew. Although there was no definite face on the mass, I could tell it was scared. The next attack was not expected. The sludge began to shrink. It just vacuumed itself into a small blob. Fucho attempted to attack it, but his beak and talons missed time after time. Even if one did strike, it sank straight through.
This Pokemon was already getting on my nerves, and, now, a high pitched sound rang from the droplet of slime. As it became higher and higher, Spearow began to cringe. The noise was nerve wreaking. Everyone in the vicinity had fallen to the ground covering there ears. As Fucho descended to the ground, streams of sludge were fired at him. They hit him one after another. He tried to avoid them, but he wasn't to successful. He took a risk.
He sprang up into the air and struggled to stay aloft. The stream no longer hit him, and the Muk ceased fire. His prayers were answered as an eye surfaced on the blob looking for a target. When it found my Spearow, the eyes locked. Before it could even react, Fucho was bolting to the sludge at top speed. Peering directly into its pupils while fearsome cries were let out, it struck the Muk full force. The shock broke its concentration and it returned to normal size. As it rose from its puddle state, shaking its head, it saw Fucho right above itself with an evil glint in its eye.
Furious, he pecked and scratched away at the Muk before it could set its defenses back up. Consistently, he kept up the motion of attacking the Muk. After about three straight minutes of tearing its opponent up, he fell from exhaustion, but that didn't matter. The Muk was beyond fainted. The trainer called the Muk back, and switched it for another Pokemon. I did the same.
Rei, my Gastly, came out the same time as the Weezing. I had gotten very lucky. This was the face off between the two poison gas Pokemon, but Gastly had one advantage: All of Weezing's attacks were not effective against Gastlies. Or so I thought...
The battle began, and Rei dashed forward with its spectral tongue out. It ran across the Weezing's face (one of them at least) and it quivered in a amalgamation of fear and disgust. Having thought that the advantage was now mine, a small fire began to appear under Gastly.
Puzzled, it looked at it. The fire began to draw out a symbol which I recognized as the Kanji "Hi", Fire. I then noticed that the Weezing was in a trace like state. Its eyes were vacant in appearance and were glowing with a bloody hue. I yelled at Gastly to get as far away from the fire as possible, but it was too late.
The symbol erupted into a gigantic explosion. It hurtled Gastly across the street. Again the fire traced the earth and erupted. Gastly was weakened but had to keep moving away from the blasts. Slowly, it drew closer to Weezing being chased by a line of craters. Without knowing it, it passed right by the Weezing, and it didn't react at all. It just floated in its trance state. I could tell Gastly knew what to do now.
With a new sense of hope, it sped a small turn back to the Weezing, making sure the blasts weren't too far behind. Rei headed immediately towards the Weezing. Rei slipped right under it, circled, and dashed away, the fire began to form under the Weezing. Without even knowing it, the Weezing defeated himself. The explosion blew the Weezing high into the sky. As it crashed back to the earth, Rei triumphantly danced around its fallen body. The trainer shamefully called it back.
