Hail Kinak,
As I'm still in Stone Town, I train even more. This time, Rei, the Gastly, is up for battle. I found another sap to challenge.
"Earthworks," a women cried to her Sandshrew. "Slash it!"
She was obviously one of the duller trainers, but for a blonde, what else would you expect.
The shrew's claws passed through the phantom's vaporous body easier than it did the very air. Laughing its haunting cackle, it launched its tongue out. The dripping wet lingual attack hit the mouse square in the forehead. It shook in terror, unable to move.
"'Kay, Rei, finish it off. Hypnosis!" The ghost emitted waves from its eyes. The bestilled shrew absorbed these entirely, and tipped over on its side stiffly, asleep.
"Oh, no," the girl said unusually girlishly and innocent, "I looks like I lost. Oops!" She tossed something at her Pokemon. When it come in contact, a thin mist enveloped it. Slowly, the mouse began to stur and unstiffen.
Nuts, I though to myself, she has items. Rei's hypnotic attacks are now worthless. The girl began to giggle girlishly (how else?). She was rousing me all along. She knew exactly what she was doing.
"Earthworks, go underground," she commanded her beast. It frantically pawed its way through the earth in mere moments. Gastly stared at the hole in confusion. It did not know what to do. There was no sign to where it would surface at.
"Quickly, Rei, get off the ground," I shouted my specter, but a second to late. The earth benethe it began to crack. Earthworks must have tunneled all of the dirt out, and now was causing a cave in. Shards of earth jutted up, piercing the Gastly. The shrew was still no where in view, until she gave another command.
"Earthworks, sand attack!" At her words, an evil glint could be seen in her eyes. Springing from its conceal spot, the mouse brought within its claws large clumps of dirt. It spun as it reached the apex of its celestial climb. A thick cloud spread over the area. Gastly cried as bits and particles were caught in its eyes. Stummbling around blindly, Rei was at the mercy of the trainer. Her confident smirk made me sick. It soon vanished as she yelled some words I did not want to hear.
"Now," she call out, "Dance the dance of Swords."
"Dahh," I accidently cried out in disappointment. The shrew began the steps of the still familar dance of destruction. Its claws began to glow faintly and softly hum. She laughed again.
"Prepare for an earth shattering assult," she warned me in a babying voice. She mocked me enough to tell me what she was going to do. Rei was still floating to and fro aimlessly. It was helpless. I simply gave up, or was ready to, anyways. It was Rei that changed that.
The Sandshrew had just finished its dance, now moving at an accelerated rate. Its claws were mere blurs in vision. With its gained strength, it prepared to strike the ground. It made a small hop into the air when Rei, bummbling around, collided with it. Not so much as collided, though, since it had no corpal body, but phased into it. This is when it realized that it had on opprotunity to win. It quickly possessed the mouse.
As it come to the ground, its arms were not even a visible space away from the earth. Rei had taken control over its body. It stuggled to resist, but failed miserably. The female trainer had no idea what had just happened. Her beast now waddled around hitting itself, with its sharpened and empowered claws. Rei had turned its enemy against itself. It did not take long before it fell from self inflicted wounds. The trainer hung her head, recalled her fallen monster, and was gone before I even knew it, which took a while since I was celebrating the victory with Rei by doing a funny little jig.
