Hail Kinak,
Today is the day that I'll train Skull. Poor guy has been neglected for a while. I take him to the outskirts of Stone Town. The scenery now looks familiar to me, seeing how I've been here for so long.
We strolled along the borders while I chitchatted with Kelly. I figured, why be bored? ... bring someone elsse along to get bored as well. We made small talk until I found something to pummel, and that did not take long. What did I see but a Dodrio.
"Looks challenging," I said to myself. "Think you're up to it?" The latter was directed to my Cubone.
"Giddy up," she said confidently. Kelly paused a moment with her mouth open like she was going to ask a question, but did not know quite how.
"D- Did that cubone just speak," she finally got out.
"What?" I would have responded, but it was too late. My attention was now at Skull fighting the Dodrio.
The giant land bird stood still, staring at Skull with untrusting eyes. Dwarfed by the avian, she walked right in front of it and returned glares. Then it came. She drew out her weapon, and, with both hands, smashed it into the ground. All of the immediate area was shattered by the force. Earth was cracked, broken, and upheaved. The Cubone breathed heavily, as she had exerted herself. Then, noticing her opponent was absent, she peered at the shadow on the ground before her. She lowly drew her eyes skyward, which revealed the three-headed bird flapping its stubby wings fiercely to stay aloft. Ceasing its efforts, it fell back to the ground unharmed by Skull's attack.
Then, it made a quick hop backwarks into the air. Putting all of its heads together to form one point, it spun towards Skull. Bracing herself with her ancient relic, the attack was deflected. Two of the heads clamped on to the bone while the middle spare head drove its beak at her head. Luckily, her Mother's guard kept her safe. It still continued pecking at her, until she thrust upward, slamming her hard helmet into the oncoming attack. The head fell back and hung unconscious. Unfortunately, the other two were fine.
Ripping her bone cudgel from the mouthes of the remaining heads, she bashed the right head in the side of the neck. A cracking sound could be heard from my standing point. It swayed in pain as it danced around flapping its wings and waving its wounded neck in pain, which I imagine would only make it worse. She attempted another strike, but it flew out of reach. They traded roars and loud calls between one another. Again, the bird flew down in its drill pattern. This time, though, instead of blocking it, Skull sank down into her element.
The Dodrio's beak became caught in the earth. As Skull arose from below, she readied her club. One of the heads managed to free itself, and now stabbed at Skull in desperation and fear. Each blow met a swing of her inheritence. On the last strike, Skull pull an overhead drop with her arm, knocking the left head out cold. Now, there was just the matter of the injured right head.
Skull bashed the ground again, but the Dodrio had freed itself just in time. Stuggling to stay afloat since only the right side of the bird now functioned, it would stagger now and then just a little. I picked up a nearby rock, about the size of my fist, and cast it at the airborn pest. I clonked it right on the noggin.
As it plummeted to the ground, where it crashed barely aware of the happenings around it, Skull moved in for the kill...
The details get a little brutal, so I'll leave them out of my log.
... so five minutes later, I withdrew Skull.
"Good job, shorty." It responded with a thumbs up. "Well, now I'll just catch that bird and-" As a spoke, I was interupted by a snapping sound. The Dodrio had vanished, and in its place was a Pokeball. All eyes turned to Kelly.
"What?" she asked half puzzled. Finally realizing her deed, "Oh! You wanted to catch it? Sorry 'bout that."
"Nah, it's alright. I would probably have just sold it anyways."
We walked back the Stone Town to see it the Leader had returned yet.
