Hail Kinak,
Fucho's constant flapping has grown accustomed in my ears. I now paid little attention to it, just like the constant chatter that came from Diane. I was making my way to the Fuschia Gym for a Soul Badge, with a Pokeball in hand. After that, I should only need the Earth and Boulder to complete the set. My eyes scanned the scenery for any movement. Even the slightest was noted. Most of the things I saw were not of importance, though. Just runt Pokemon running out of the way of the sound of aerial doom.
Fucho had grown a lot recently. His once stubby wings have now lengthened, his tail majestically hangs longer, his beak seemed to be elongating, and some plumage on his head was beginning to get some color into it. All of these pointed to his inevitable evolution.
One of the scurrying Pokemon did not seem to find Fucho a threat. It was a Doduo. Its twin heads haughtily waving about. It made me sick.
"Wow, that thing looks frozen in fear," Diane mentioned.
"No, it's not," I said in my battle hungry dilution. "Fucho, kill it!" Diane smacked her face.
Fucho, of course, was no comparison to the Doduo by sight. The land bird stood several feet taller then the evil tree sparrow. Beating his wings fiercely, he held his position above the two heads despite their attempts to escape, causing the combatants to run amuck, and lashed out. He scored a magnitude of wounds with his talons and beak in a furious rage, but only minor ones. One of the heads stayed in place parrying attacks while the other bent downward and thrust a beak at Fucho's underside. The sharp point sank deep, tearing his flesh. As he screeched in pain, the second head grasp his leg, pulling the beak deeper into the wound.
Forcing himself to act, despite the mind numbing pain, he threw his head down, striking the right eye of the head that held him. It squawked, freeing his foot, but soon regained control and clamped onto a wing, ripping feathers from it. His flying was now severely disable. To retaliate, he clutched the neck of the head stabbing him, which was now even deeper into his body, and strangled it. Its tongue popped out, and it dangled unconsciously, limp at the neck. His body wound, now with the obstruction removed, bled freely.
Now it boiled down to a one-on-one battle between Fucho and the remaining head. They both went for each others necks. Fucho's shorter beak allowed him to bite at the Doduo's with out him being in danger of it long, slender beak. The Doduo cried in agony, flapping its nearly atrophied wings wildly. It lifted up into air and slammed onto the earth, aiming its body to crush Fucho. Not paying attention to its actions, having grown use to the constant tumbling of the battle, he had no choice but to take the hit full force.
Fucho was smashed into Gaia. His mouth's grip on its neck loosened, and it stood up. Wasting no time, it started to peck at Fucho's wings, finishing the damage its twin head had started. He forced the head off him, and attempted to soar into the air. As if mocking him, the Doduo went aloft, and flew around him. Frantically, he tried again and again to get up, but each time unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the Doduo was tallying some good blows on him. When it seemed Fucho could take no more, he hung his head and pulled his wings close to his body. I thought he was going to faint and turned away so I would not see his defeat, but he did not fall. In fact, it was just he opposite. He floated directly into the sky.
As he rose into the sun's blazing rays, he stretched his wings out far, further than they ever were before. His dark silhouette stood in deep contrast to the brilliance of the sun. All shielded their eyes as they looked at his skyward stance. Strangely enough, it seemed as if he was falling down towards us, as he grew larger at each moment, but it was then I realized he was growing. He feathers of his wings and tail lengthened before my eyes. Pulling his wings back down, he rocketed towards the earth, beak aimed at his opponent right ahead. Paralyzed by the sight of the transformation, it took the full force of the Fearow's dive in its body, sending it flying in the distance. In its earthbound descent, I hurled a Pokeball and prayed...
