Hail Kinak,
My battle at Pewter was finished, and I now headed over to the Indigo Plateau. There, I would take my place as an Elite Trainer. It was amazing how fast my power has grown. However, I am not an Elite yet, and there are still many trials that one must go through when they reach the Pokemon League. So, onward I went. I took a route around the Viridian Forest, not wanting to risk any more Beedrill troubles. It took longer, but my destination would be the same. Walking down the unworn path along the edge of the wilderness, I saw something stir within. As an instant reaction, I grabbed one of my Pokeballs and readied for battle. It was not needed, however. The shape drew closer, and I made it out to be...
"Diane?" I said unintentionally while lowering my arms. Her clothes were tattered and torn, and her face looked no better. Scraps and scuffs covered her. "There you are. We got separated a while back. I was wondering where you've been." She only gazed at me with frozen eyes.
"Where I have been?" she said in a flat toned, angry voice. "You want to know where I have been?" Her voice steadily rose. "WHAT ABOUT YOU? WHERE WERE YOU? I GOT LOST IN THIS STUPID FOREST AND ATTACK BY A SWARM OF BEEDRILLS!" I could swear I saw a vein popping on her forehead.
"Oh, you, too?" I asked. "I had the same problem. Skull took care of them for me, though." Her eye twitched. "You okay?"
"No, I am not okay. I was nearly killed," she replied back at a reasonable volume.
"Well," I said carelessly. "I'm heading down to Viridian. Bye." Only a brief time after I started to walk away, something clobbered my head. After picking myself up, I noticed a Pokeball laying on the ground. Diane still had a pissed look.
"Battle," she said, "Now." I really had no choice. I tossed the ball I had in my hand from when Diane startled me. From mine came out the jellyfish known as Squishy. As for his opponent, an azure mist slowly arose from the ball, taking shape of a lupine beast decorated with fins. Its long fish tail waved freely behind it while its dark eyes sparkled in the sun. "This is Myst, and she will kill you." Shrugging indifferently, I ordered Squishy to attack.
A thick stream of suds flew at the Vaporeon. They seemed not even to phase her. The Vaporeon's body let out some dense fog, which carried away the bubbles, and then summoned an eerie mist to protect herself. She charged at the Tentacool with her head down. Squishy blasted forth a river of acid that splattered on the Vaporeon. It began to corrode its skin and flesh. A second stream was fired, but the beast's body began to melt away into a puddle. The erosive squirt feel useless onto the pool. The melted Vaporeon slowly crawled towards Squishy, who was immobilized on land.
When the Vaporeon was close enough, she drew her head from the fluid and bit the Tentacool hard. He quickly wrapped his tendril around its head, but it liquefied and seeped right through. Warily, he watched all around himself for were the head would spring from. She would surface at a new point each time and chomp his mellifluous flesh. He was growing tired of this game and slowed down his striking back at the head, almost as if he gave up.
One fateful time when the head arose at Squishy's lower part, she latched unmercifully onto him and held her place. Weakly, this tentacles bound the head. There was barely enough force behind the action to be recognized. Without warning, the Vaporeon's head began to appear dizzy, and wobble a bit. Squishy's grasp seemed to tighten, as well.
Squishy's stinger was right were she bit him, and even a trace amount of the deadly venom would mean certain doom. Once the grip loosened, he then began to suck the life from the Vaporeon. His wounds healed and the puddle slowly solidified back to its regular shape. Squishy seemed to have even more strength then when he started the battle. He lifted the Vaporeon up into the air and threw her at Diane's feet. Then, he did a little jig while the strength boost lasted.
"No, not again! Why?" she complained while hugging her fallen Vaporeon.
"'Cause you suck," I smugly said while walking away after retracting Squishy.
