Hail Kinak,
With tattered clothing and bruised body, I lurched to the massive doors of the Pokemon League. All of my Pokemon were exhausted and could barely move. I came up to the doors and knocked. They swung open revealing a large empty room with a counter in the corner with some people behind it. They gave me queer looks as I slowly walked to them.
"Yessss?" one of them asked.
"I-I-I have came to chal-lenge the Elites..." Sorely, I pulled out my badges and dropped them on the counter. The man looked at them, then at me.
"There are no Elites," he explained.
"W-what?"
"Its been a while since anyone has challenged the Elites and won. They were so good, that people actually stopped coming to fight them. Finally, they all aged and retired," he explained. He produced a card from his pocket and handed it to me.
"Congratulations, you're head of the Elite Trainers."
"O-o-kay," I said while taking the card, not knowing what else to say. "When do I start?" The man took in a deep breathe.
"Yeah, that's the thing," he said. "This place has been in shambles for so long, its going to take a while to get it back up and running again. I'd give it a day or so."
"Oh. Well, is there a Pokemon Recuperator here?"
"There is, but currently it is not working. Again, inactivity. Our PC still is functional, surprisingly. Would you please wait outside or something?" the man told me.
"But, but, most of my monsters, and myself, are tired and hurt," I whined. Rei was tired from fighting the Golbat, Thor from the Machoke, Mooky from the Geodude, and Squishy and Cinder from the Venonat, which I dubbed Vengence, who of course was drained.
"Not my problem." Scowling at the man, I stepped up to the PC, and took care some business.
I stepped outside. The only Pokemon I had a full health were Growlithe and Pidgeotto. I popped out Kaze.
"Well, ol' girl. Looks like we have some time to kill. I've been meaning to-" I cut off my words at a strange sound. Turning, I saw part of a blue face and hand peering over some rocks by the cave entrance and a piercing red eye. "A brute! Kaze, strike!" My Pidgeotto had already begun its rocket paced flight to the blue figure. It let out a short scream and ran back into the cave. I was not ready to go back into there, so I let Kaze dive on in.
Both of them were consumed by the blackness of the descending passageway. I stood a good few feet to the side of the tunnel. Deep from within, I heard chirps and flaps. When the all stopped, I took a large step backwards as a huge gale force blew from the opening carrying the Machop out into the daylight. Kaze followed shortly after.
The superpower was at the disadvantage here, since its eyes were not accustomed to the sun. It shielded itself from the radiant beams with its overly sized hand. It could not see much through the glaring sun. By the time Kaze became clear in its vision, she was already upon it. With agile swipes of her beak and talon, he carved the Machop up. Its arm was still up from blocking the sun and absorbed most of the hits. Drawing its other arm in front of its face, it concentrated acutely. All of its surroundings seemed to no longer concern it as it let out a battle cry. The awkward scream startled Kaze, and then the Machop's hand came crushing down. The attack crippled Kaze's left wing, impairing its ability to fly and flap alike.
She was about to avenge her incapacitation when she felt a foot in her stomach. Gasping for air, she fell on the ground. The small blue monster rose its hand again in the sky, but a swift brush against the earth flung dirt into its face. The sharp pain stalled the superpower long enough for Kaze to ram it. Mowed down, it thrashed out with its feet. Kaze hopped back and dodged most of it.
Whipping is sole working wing back and forth, she created a forceful wind and blew the Machop back. It patiently held its ground, striding through the stormy blast. Dust and debris was caught in the squall, but did not bother it. It finally got close enough so it could wrap its hands around the Pidgeotto. Clutching her wings, it held her head backwards. Mustering its power, the small body climbed into the air and hurled the bird earthward.
Kaze seemed to swoon on its head first impact with the land. Her face was battered and bloody. Now I knew this guys was worth the trouble I was going through. I fingered over my Pokemon and had forgotten I still had Fucho left. I grabbed the orb that contained him and dropped it. The mammoth avian grew from the broken globe. His wings loomed over the Machop, blotting out the sun. He aimed his slender beak at the small body. The look alone could have defeated its opponent. Throwing back his wings, the Fearow roared his feral cry. The Machop froze, scared stiff. He started to charge the superpower, but something obstructed his path.
It was Kaze. Blood still trickled down her smashed face, yet she stood before the greater bird, blocking him with extended wing. Again, she did the side swinging motion with her wing. The Machop recognized this song and dance, and played through like it did before. It covered its face, and trudged forward through the oncoming wind. But soon, it found the force it pushed against absent and came tumbling forward, right into Kaze's waiting talons.
Seized, the Machop was lifted into the sky. Kaze flapped her wings despite injury. Feathers plucked off. When she felt she had gotten high enough, she stopped completely, fainting and plummeting to the ground. I raced to catch her in my arms. She was a heavier then I once thought, but I still managed to hold her. The Machop was not as lucky. You could see the dent and blood stain its face made in the hard ground. Fucho was standing next to it, poking it with his beak. He nodded to me, and I to him as I pulled out a Pokeball...
