Hail Kinak,
I had just flown my Pidgeotto down to Cinnabar Island for some well deserved R&R was on my way to the beach. I figured that I would take a short cut through to the beach and cut out my time on the main streets, which were flooded with people. As I wandered the side streets, I noticed the people began to thin out, and the area became more dingy. Soon, I was completely alone and the air was filled with a black haze. I turned to watch my back constantly as it seemed I was in a bad neighborhood. The dilapidated houses all looked alike, until one broke the pattern. It was still broken-down and in ruins, but this house was massive. The gates at the front hung slanted on their last hinge. The doors to the mansion had fallen off some time ago gave way to a faded light coming from within. How could I resist?
I crept through the fallen off and entered the deserted manor. Dying flames riddled fallen rubble on the caved-in floor. As I wandered through, I could here hooves clanking on the planks. When I was creeped out enough, I turned to leave, but the floor had given way to my weight, and I was plunged into the dark abyss.
I hit the floor surprisingly softly. I would have figured to at least suffer some broken bones in the fall. When I went to rub my aching body, my hand went into something moist and sticky. I pulled it out quickly and wiped it off. A tingling residue was left on it still. I peeled my body off whatever it was to identify it. Reforming itself was a mass of violet goop, I quickly selected an opponent for it to face.
The sphere broke spilling forth the red beast Cinder. The Grimer stared at him with its spaced out eyes and attacked with a cannonade of slime. My Flareon was doused in the acidic ooze. It slowly began to eat away at his skin. Angered, he returned fire with a barrage of searing tongues. The flaming array scattered wide. As the Grimer burned, it melted itself into a puddle, and the flames vanished. Raising enough to only bring is mouth forth, the sludge spewed a nauseous gas into the air. The heavy green smog choked Cinder, and he threw himself to the ground for breath.
The toxic pool advanced on the Flareon, who was fathoming a way to victory. His eyes light bright as he lowered his head. A column of flame rose from beneath the Grimer. Its translucent state had no defense for the heat. Once more, Cinder concentrated on conjuring the pillar, but his mind was disturbed by alien force. I could see his face twisted in torture as the Grimer was singing some spell to cloud his mind. While the Grimer was up, Cinder bared his fangs, and clamped down on the sludge. Liquefying in his mouth, it sprang up behind him and enveloped the Flareon.
Cinder struggled for breathe. The thick mire slowly burned away from his body. The walls of the Grimer pounded down on him to make him keel over faster. The signs of resistance grew smaller and smaller until they stopped all together. Cautiously, the Grimer shifted back full to see if the Flareon had been truly stopped. It then saw a strange flame before it. The fire mysteriously came from about him, yet it did not singe its body. Barely recognizing the flames from previously, it hastily went to weaving another dispelling, but all too late. A blazing ring materialized around it as a wall of flame grew from it, encompassing him. The fiery wrath toasted its body, spreading fire to its mass. It convoluted brutally and finally exploded as Cinder threw out his sore limbs and cranked his neck.
The strewn ooze assembled itself. It upsurged back to its traditional shape, fury burning in its eyes. It gathered a ball of sludge in its throat, and prepared to spit it, but, in swift movements, Flareon was upon the Grimer, smashing it into the floor. I promptly returned Cinder to its Pokeball to ease its suffering, and took another to capture the fallen Grimer...
