Average Joseph Schmoe (it's, um... French) is a regular guy. And, as the rules stipulate in the Challengers' Rulebook, anyone is allowed to compete. More importantly, everyone must compete, or at least a sampling of everyone. It wouldn't be a universal brawl without complete representation, now would it? Selected as a "proper sampling" of the typical man, A. J. now must fight for his life against the toughest assortment of freaks, aliens, and combatants from across the galaxy.

History:

A. J. was created to serve as the even statted, normal player character in The Game of Stuff. Since that project folded, its characters were evacuated to other realms. As Schmoe was a good, humanoid character, he was ported to Challengers of the Universe, which, ironic to its name, lacked much any challengers to fill out its ranks. As the only homage paid to his mother series, Joe wears the abbreviation "GoS" on his left jacket sleeve.
