First Races
When the Lord first attempted to create beings in their image, intelligent and strong, they were too successful. They first spawned sentient life on three Orbs, Idos, Yntra, and Uphka. The races were given less power when created as they saw the errors to such formidable subjects. The First of Idos, and of all Orbs, were immortal. Nothing could kill them, and, therefore, they feared nothing, not even their creators, whom they were mightier than. A peaceful people, they lived in the paradise created for them in harmony never depending on the Lords for anything else or even acknowledging them. The second race to be made was not much less diluted. Giants to the species that would follow, the great strength and speed of their bodies served them well in battle, but, more surprising, was their vast knowledge. As smart as strong, if not smarter, they passed down their kinds lore and wisdom by word from one generation to the next, including the art of spirit crafting and magicks. The third race was one of great spirit but frail body. The least powerful of the three, they were still more powerful than any surviving species. With their vast sapience, they showed the Lords reverence, knowing full well that they could take life away from them at any moment, until their safety was secured. This is precisely what the Lords did. The first two races were severely punished while the third race prospered until the fated destruction of Uphka, which they turned to their advantage, earning the third race, the Plipple, freedom from worshipping the Lords.
Tiring of the insubordination of their first children and fearing it at the same time, the Lords tried many times to destroy the immortals but failed due to the contrary nature of the task. Finally, they tore open the earth of Idos and swallowed the surface of the Orb, burying their years of shaping and hard work under the soil and rocks. Their bodies, although immortal, became mangled and twisted under the literal weight of the world. They could do nothing, not even die, for countless ages until finally their spirits slowly faded away to nothing, still leaving their indestructible shells embedded deep in the Orb.
Betrayal
When the Lords had felt the second race disrespected them enough and wanted another threat to their position removed, they, too, would not fall easily. Although not immortal, their innate magical prowess prevented most all forms of harm unto them, even without their knowledge. When the earth of the Orb was laid over them, they merely shook of the piles of dirt as if it were a rain. The Lords decided to take an alternative solution. If the threat could not be eliminated, then it would have to be changed to no longer be a threat. Making a rare appearance, the Lords made a peace offering with a seemingly friendly gift. They offered to end all suffering and harm to their kind by making them invincible. Very trusting at the time, the second species accepted the gift, allowing the Lords to infuse them with it, relinquishing their magical guards. Seizing the opportunity, the initial promise was fulfilled, as the race obtained invulnerability by their bones being drawn through their flesh to rest on their skin, but they were transformed into hideous beasts at the same time. Gnarled bony plates covered their once beautiful bodies, large, thick claws replaced their limber fingers, their elegant lips turned into a row of jagged teeth, and their graceful movements hindered by the bulky joints in their new armor. Worst of all was the fact that their shielding absorbed any magical energy, draining them of their most useful tool. Everything about their way of life was stolen. They could no longer speak their language, write of the occurrences, practice magic, or deal with anything in a refined or delicate manner. Their culture had to be restarted with all things pertaining to their new bodies, which, as the Lords planned it, was impossible. They stayed locked in a primitive lifestyle while other races had come and gone on other Orbs. Despite this fact, they retained most all of their intelligence over this time and were just unable to make use of it. When they were about to abandon hope on reclaiming their lives, Yntra was consumed by chaos. Many of the second race perished during the catastrophe, swallowed directly into Havoc. The few spared were hurtled through space, and, as promised, they were quite invincible. Individuals crashed onto the other Orbs unscathed. There, they quickly learned the inhabiting races' ways of life and quickly became both respected and feared by them. The capable hands of the other races could express the long since thought lost information, which was eagerly shared as the served as sages. Some would even serve as warriors, but they would never do so for monetary gain and only to pay off a grave debt, which they rarely had. Even still, they rarely had a chance to fight, for an army with a Vodi on its side was given a swift surrender.
