I Gots Hits!
I was struck by a vehicle. Yeah, that is right. Not me in another vehicle, but me myself was the prime component in the collision. At this point in time, and about at this hour, three days ago, I was hit by an SUV. Knocked flat to the ground. Obviously, I was not hit that hard or in that damaging of a fashion (or I might just be un-killable) because elsewise, well, I sure would not be able to type right now, and you would be a lot happier because you would not be wasting your time reading this. Strange thing is that I did not mind to much. Most everyone I told were more concerned with why I did not record the lady's license plate or get her number or something, which, in retrospect, I probably should have done, just to be on the cautious side. The thing that gets me mad about the entire ordeal, more than the soreness I suffered from the next morning (yeah, I know. if that was the worse result of most collisions, most people would be much happier), is the fact that the entire reason I was even run down was because stupid gits don't obey the simpliest of traffic laws!
I mean, gah! Is it so hard to keep this simple rules in mind? The overlooked simplicity that lead to my incident was a mere stopping point. I mean, is it so hard to tell a cross walk from that giant, thick, white bar? Obviously not, for this driver passed both up. Truely, though, its an easy enough task: stop at line. Pass line after stopping and checking to make sure all oncoming traffic has cleared and
no pedestrians are in front of you. That latter part is pretty important...
*groan* I have seen so many close calls just since I was hit from people rushing around right turns. Stopping, yeah, that is a chore. It is for suckers.
Second thing, the speed limit. How difficult is it to not speed? I mean, five mph over, okay. Ten mph over the limit? I guess that would be acceptable, but most of the time people are booking twenty to thirty miles over, and that is when it is only a thirty-five zone. I have never been in a car accident (while inside a car myself) despite the large number of times some morons pull jackass stunts around me. Why? Because I have more than enough time to react to the situation, normally not even having to hit my brakes while other people have to swerve. Geez, if only there was some sort of guideline for people to follow so that they could more easily avoid accidents.
Oh wait, that's right! It's the speed limit... Morons! What I find even more comical is that the more hazardous the area the faster people drive. School zone? Why reduce speed? How about a steep climb! The less time spent in the school zone, the less possibility of running over a little git-kid, right? ...
Sarcasm'd! Or, "What? I'm entering a work zone? Well, eighty isn't fast enough! Time to book hardcore style! -hey! Who's this jerk in the toycar car doing fifty?" at which point I am passed up...
Also, SUVs suck. I was hit by one, I can complain about them, too. Why would the government even allow them to be sold? I mean, giant waste of resourses? Brilliant! All things should be giant, poor handling, gas guzzlers!
Sarcasm'd x2!
Well, I vented, I feel better.
