The Principals
Amid the rampaging chaos that was the shaping of known existence, the three basic components of being were given shape: matter, spirit, and thought. Matter encompassed all physical and tangible aspects, such as earth and flesh. Spirit represent the very opposite, those things beyond touch, the core of being that held matter in its shape. Despite the first two being the most evident, thought was regarded as the most powerful, for it held dominion over both matter and spirit. All ideas, notions, beliefs, and even actions were subject to it. Proof of its power is the Great Dreamer herself, whose fantasy shaped the universe itself, and it is thought that keeps the universe from trekking too far from its previous incarnations throughout the ebb of time. Both matter and spirit can be broken down into miniscule fractions that can be rearranged in an endless number of ways. Thought does not share this fragmenting and is more an all enveloping singular force that spans and connects all things together. It is, nonetheless, easily mutable, constantly converting from one to another, never staying the same. During this separation, however, some did not separate as much as sought. An assemblage of various essences of soul gave rise to the powerful entities. Lacking a form or will of their own, they acted mindless to perpetuate the forces of nature or, not rarely, obstruct them. Possessing magnificent power, their actions were aimless. Over a long period of time, these random occurrences led to the combination of the three principals, producing a grave consequence. No longer was the product only subject to the actions of being, it could perform them itself with the body it was granted. It was the first of a greater force that could span the Orbs. It was life.
Belief
The first of life was small, both physically and metaphysically. Slowly, it grew and prospered against the harshness of the haphazard higher entities. These creations, although lowly, made an impact on the world beyond their comprehension solely due to one act. They feared, and thus the Grand Spirits were born. When something living dies, its body decays back into the things it was crafted from and its soul does similarly, but its thoughts do not. Like a bubble in the Great Dream, its thoughts had been separated but now are suddenly reintroduced into the grand scheme, distorting it with the acquired knowledge of its life. This disturbance is of a negligible size in comparison to the whole dream, generally. The early life became fearful of certain phenomenon, learning to avoid it to preserve their life. The fear turned to hate as lives were claimed throughout generations. The vast quantities and duration of these projected feelings began to change the higher entities. Those revered forces now did not strike randomly but with malicious intent, which only led to further dread. Associations were made to the phenomenon, general aspects and beliefs, which they soon began to adopt, becoming much like a primal creature themselves. The fear and hate spread to related forces, and, at the same time, admiration and praise spread to those things that shielded the early life-forms from destruction. These spirits, too, were reshaped as envisioned by the early creations. They were not to remain this way forever, however, as the opinion of the masses would change over time and legend changing the spirits or generating new ones altogether. Thus is the endless cycle without a true beginning or end. Their belief in the purpose of the natural forces only fueled those who governed over them to act more strongly, which perpetuated the belief further. The Grand Spirits created life, but it was life who created the Grand Spirits.
The Imperishable
While most all things crumble over time, there are those aspects rooted so deep into the minds of all that the reshaping of the universe itself can no longer affect them. Within the hearts of all, the looming sense of approaching doom and despair have become manifested into a soul of utter darkness, merely known as Abandon. Where most souls fragment upon death, Abandon is unbreakable and is passed down the generations untainted and whole, spreading discord and hate wherever it is hosted. Equally so, there is a sense of hope and deliverance from this inescapable doom despite all odds or reason. This belief has been incarnated as a hero's soul just as irreducible, Savior. The fates of the two possessing these souls are said to cross for every manifestation, being the basis for all great legends. Nothing else is able to survive from dream to dream other than the first creation, the weapon Creation made to split apart her brother, Havoc.
